Only with innovation & USA manufacturing combined are we assured a prosperous future!
"I think the biggest enemy of manufacturing in the U.S. is the pseudo-knowledge that America is a bad place for manufacturing. This perception will keep manufacturing from happening and thereby ensure that the reality will fulfill the prophecy. I think for every example where companies, states, cities, governmental agencies do well on this issue, our government should find ways of drumming it into the consciousness of people who are considering building a plant or who are ready to enter a career which is not manufacturing-based. It is probably best to look at this as a major brand campaign." -- Andy Grove, co-Founder of Intel   (MIT Technology Review 2011) AmericanMadeHeroes.com!

Abigail Adams is known for advocating an education in the public schools for girls that was equal to that given to boys as she herself had no formal education. She was taught to read and write at home with access to the extensive library of her father. She took a special interest in philosophy, theology, Shakespeare, the classics, ancient history, government and law. Abigail Adams pressed her husband John Adams for the equitable legal status of women.

During the American War for Independence, British forces are forced to evacuate Boston following Patriot General George Washington's successful placement of fortifications and cannons on Dorchester Heights, which overlooks the city from the south. Unknown to many but the offical purpose of the parade is to officially celebrate that victory with a parade passing the Dorchester Heights Monument in honor of the men and women who climbed that hill to prepare to fight to the death for freedom from the far superior British forces. The parade passes exactly where the colonial army and General George Washington won their very first military victory ... and it was there where the underdogs actually began to think they just might win it all!

During the evening of March 4, Patriot General John Thomas, under orders from Washington, secretly led a force of 800 soldiers and 1,200 workers to Dorchester Heights and began fortifying the area. The password to enter their encampment? ... St Patrick! To cover the sound of the construction, Patriot cannons, besieging Boston from another location, began a noisy bombardment of the outskirts of the city. By the morning, more than a dozen cannons from Fort Ticonderoga had been brought within the Dorchester Heights fortifications. British General Sir William Howe hoped to use British ships in Boston Harbor to destroy the Patriot position, but a storm set in, giving the Patriots ample time to complete the fortifications and set up their artillery. On March 17, 11,000 British troops and some 1,000 Royalists departed Boston by ship and sailed to the safety of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The bloodless liberation of Boston by the Patriots brought an end to a hated eight-year British occupation of the city, known for such infamous events as the "Boston Massacre." For the victory, General Washington was presented with the first medal ever awarded by the Continental Congress.

Alexander Hamilton
"Not only the wealth, but the independence and security of a country, appear to be materially connected with the prosperity of manufacturers. Every nation ... ought to endeavor to possess within itself all the essentials of a national supply. They comprise the means of subsistence, habitation, clothing and defense ... The expediency of encouraging manufactures in the United States, which was not long since deemed very questionable, appears at this time to be pretty generally admitted."

"The America I know must always be viewed as a land of free people and not simply a business platform from which to extract personal profit no matter what effect on our fellow citizens. We must now fight to not lose our economic independence. Economic independence assures the existence of the United States of America as a land of free people. The country I will leave my children is in trouble and I am gravely concerned. This is my oar in the water."

American Made Heroes (AMH) is a unique non-partisan, grass-roots partnership focused on supporting, strengthening and expanding USA manufacturing. AMH applauds and salutes the growing group of American domestic manufacturers who proudly manufacture here in the USA and deserve America's special recognition and respect. American Made Heroes (AMH) also recognizes and salutes those among us who advocate for the implemention of policy solutions to support our domestic manufacturers over unfair trade from foreign competitors.
